Hello Train Kentucky community,
We are excited to announce the dates for our upcoming Adult Peer Support Certification Course, scheduled to take place from August 15, 16, 19 and 20 between 8AM and 4:30PM daily. This four-day training program is designed to empower helping professionals who are passionate about supporting individuals on their journey towards mental health and substance use recovery.
Course Overview:
Our comprehensive Adult Peer Support Certification Course covers essential topics, such as:
- The principles and practices of peer support
- Understanding addiction, mental health disorders, and the recovery process
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques
- Confidentiality, boundaries, and ethics in peer support
- Cultural competence and working with diverse populations
- Self-care and maintaining personal wellness as a peer support specialist
By the end of the course, participants will be certified adult peer support specialists in the state of Kentucky and well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles as peer support specialists, fostering lasting change in the lives of their clients, families, and communities.
